O’Reilly slams comedian for violent rhetoric against Palin, Fox continues to support Ted Nugent

Last night on The O’Reilly Factor’s “Pinheads and Patriots” segment, Billo charged comedian Christopher Titus as a pinhead for saying on the Adam Carolla show that if Sarah Palin were to be elected president he would “hang out on the grassy knoll all the time…Just loaded and ready.”

Here’s what went down:

O’Reilley: We have enough violence in America, do we not? The brutal Arizona shootings last January demonstrated that quite clearly. But still, pinheads, especially in show business, push free speech to the limit. Listen to a comedian ripping on Sarah Palin.

Titus: {audio} You know what man, I am literally – if she gets elected president I am gonna hang out on the grassy knoll all the time. Just loaded and ready. It’s for my country. If I’ve got to sacrifice myself…it’s for my country.

O’Reilley: That is simply unacceptable. The grassy knoll reference is of course the assassination of President Kennedy. Mr. Titus is a pinhead. He has issued an apology, but come on.

Fine. This kind of language is not appropriate. But it’s absurd to condemn Titus for his violent speech against Palin while Fox News continues to have Ted Nugent on as a guest despite the fact that he yelled out in concert (while holding up weapons): “Hey, Obama! You might want to suck on one of these, you punk!…Obama, he’s a piece of sh*t, and I told him to suck on my machine gun. Let’s hear it for him! And then I was in New York. I said, ‘Hey, Hillary! You might want to ride one of these into the sunset, you worthless b**ch’.”

Like I noted in today’s earlier post, the GOP has a tendency to condemn people on the left for doing certain things while supporting people on the right when they do those exact same things. Lack of consistency? Hypocrisy? Whatever you want to call it, it’s pretty disturbing and embarrassing.

Here’s that clip of the charming Nugent:

And here is Sean Hannity on Fox News defending Nugent’s expression of hate and violence against Obama and Clinton:

Just last month Nugent’s Obama rant would again be used in the Jon Stewart/Bill O’Reilley debate over allowing “controversial” rapper Common to perform at the White House:

Part 2:

This makes my head explode.
